COLLEGE BOUND COUNSELING

What is college bound counseling? The college Bound office prepares students to access the college and career of their dreams. Through this program, students will be able to get a sense of what college options are available, what they can expect and look forward to!

It is never too soon to start planning your future! The more prepared you are for what is to come the easier the transition will be when you graduate from high school.

There are many different opportunities that the college bound program has for students, some include:

  • Group and individual support for students

  • Assistance with college applications, resources, financial aid

  • Connections to colleges via tours and free swag

  • Plan fun activities to get students excited for college and careers after middle and high school

  • Work to help students reach their full potential, help with organization and stress management skills.

  • We help students discover their goals and acquire self-understanding skills.

Future Early Risers work space!

Student Spotlight

Each month the college bound department will highlight a GLOW student who is on the path to college readiness.

Every student has the opportunity to be featured and have their voice heard by others! Click on the "Tell Us What You Think" button above to tell us about yourself.

We are focusing on highlighting students that are a part of the Early Risers program! Early Risers is a selective program for 9th and 10th graders. It allows for the opportunity to take college level classes, build up your college resume, opportunities for leadership, and so many more!

Clara Pearson

Class of 2024

Clara has been offered the opportunity to take business administration through their career and technical classes at Cape Fear Community College.

Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today's global economy.

The classes Clara gets to take include introduction to computers, introduction to business, principles of financial accounting, principles of marketing. By the end she will have a business administration certificate!

Students that a part of Early Risers have great academic standings and are on the right path to graduation! Way to go Clara!
